From Then to Now:

For the last 2 years, I’ve have had the privilege of running with my team, OK Company, a great set of guys and gals out here in the NW part of the US. Further, having over 50 active team members, meant I was able to play with various types of markers. Now, I was a bit worried in the beginning, being how far markers have advanced from my trusty 98 STO Autococker, but eventually the OCD side of me won out and I started tinkering.

Tinkering turned into obsessing, and in the end, my teammates named me the ‘Gunsmith’. I have had older mechs, and newer electros in front of me. I have repaired, upgraded, modded, or revived just over 200 markers since my full blown return in March of 2008. I personally have owned just under 50 different types in that time frame (yes, I know I need help. Know a good shrink or AA group?). I guess the benefit of having OCD, is I wont give up, the downside is sometimes I get to involved with the marker that Ill forget to do some minor things (drink, eat, sleep….thankful breathing is involuntary or I would not be writing this).

In regard to parts used, I will only used factory parts, or if you wish to upgrade, I will only use products from the following companies: Trinity, New Designz, and Custom Products. My reasoning is simple. I will not sell or push a product I would not personally use. A lot of ‘knockoffs’ made over seas might be extremely cheap, but please keep in mind they are knockoffs. I would not trust a knockoff to regulate the pressure on my tank, nor should anyone. Please try to keep that in mind if you’re thinking of saving a few bucks. Ask yourself if it’s really worth it.

In regard to whether or not I work on Autocockers, think it’s pretty safe to say that it’s my normal pastime hobby. If I have no current projects, I’m always building a new Autococker, or a converted Cocker pump. My OCD loves to work on cockers, and frankly I love the way the pneumatics work on them. So yes, I’m very familiar with tuning/timing any and all cockers.

Please note that we run a repair business, and not an online information center. There are plenty of websites out there that will have a plethora of information for your marker (a lot of Owners Groups, and of course you have the big 3: M Carter Brown, PB Nation, and TechPB). If you have a question specific to your marker, please research it. We will not answer troubleshooting questions.

Pricing:

There are 3 types of pricing:

  • Upgrading - $15 per hour
  • Repairs - $20 per hour
  • Revival - $30 per hour

Upgrading is straight forward and simple. I receive a working marker, that a person wants to upgrade part(s) on it. The person purchases the parts, I install them, then test the marker to make sure it has no issues. Buyer is responsible for shipping to and from. I will consider accepting the stock parts as payment.

Repair is work done to a paintball marker that is not currently working either at all or correctly. Repairs cost cover time and research, air, and paint used to test the marker. Any items that need to be replaced will be the responsibility of the buyer. Buyer is responsible for shipping to and from.

Revival work is special work. I tend to only work on 1 to 2 revival projects at any given time. These projects normally require large amounts of time researching and tracking down rare parts. Further, I contact the appropriate parties that I deal with regularly to restore pieces and parts to a new look (e.g. Having the Wooden Stock of a Sheridan KP Rifle sanded, stained, and sealed). This service is for the person that wants to either own history, or has a piece of it that they want brought back to life. Please understand, due to the tedious work that needs to be done with this type of project, the time frame is normally 6 to 8 weeks. Billing will only occur for actual work, not down time. Buyer is responsible for all restoration work done outside of Throwing Paint, along with parts that are replaced, and Shipping to and from.

Shipping

We ship everything Priority Mail via USPS. We charge a flat rate of $13 to ship markers back (this price is only valid for the 48 States. Please inquire for accurate price quotes if you are outside the main body of the United States). Within that $13 that will include the Priority Shipping, Confirmation Number, and Additional insurance. Please note that all markers are left in full working order, and heavily packed. If upon receiving the marker there is an issue, please contact the Post Office to claim the insurance money.
